https://www.rumahprof.com/index.php/CHIPROF/article/view/135

Adolescence is a transitional phase of self-discovery and lifestyle adjustments that can cause stress. Mentally healthy adolescents are those who are able to cope with life's pressures, be productive, and contribute to their communities. According to the 2024 I-NAMHS survey, 15.5-2.45 million adolescents have mental health problems, with the highest prevalence being 14 years old (75%). Mental health problems in adolescents, such as stress and anxiety, can hinder physical activity and quality. Mental health is crucial for adolescents, with psychoeducation to build a strong mental character, one of which is through peer counselors. The Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT) method as an educational medium has proven to be effective in addressing adolescent mental health issues. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of peers using the SEFT method approach on adolescent mental health. The method used was a Quasi-Experimental Design with a Pretest Posttest Control Group design. The results showed a significant influence of the SEFT method by peers on improving the emotional mental state of adolescents in the depression category with a t-test p value of 0.015, while in the anxiety and stress problem categories there was no influence of the SEFT method given by peers. The approach of those closest to them with continuous education through beneficial spiritual methods has an impact on the continuation of a generation of mentally and physically healthy adolescents.
Bardiati UlfahFika AuliaYaolanda Rizqi AgustinaRahmi PadlillahAnggun SalsabillaAlya Nazwa

https://www.rumahprof.com/index.php/CHIPROF/article/view/159

Student mental health is an important concern in the modern world of higher education, especially in the face of various academic, social, and personal pressures. This research aims to analyze the concept of design thinking as a psychological approach to support students' mental health through learning based on the Massive Open Online Course platform. The research method uses an analytical descriptive approach by examining the implementation of five stages of design thinking in the context of psychology, including empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test. Data was obtained from the MOOC learning experience as a result of a collaboration between Bina Darma University and Gadjah Mada University which focused on the application of design thinking to design mental health solutions. The results of the study show that design thinking is in line with the principles of humanistic psychology, providing a systematic framework for students to understand emotional states, identify sources of stress, and develop adaptive coping strategies. MOOC platforms have proven to be effective in democratizing access to psychoeducation by addressing geographical, financial, and social stigma barriers. This approach shifts the paradigm of psychological intervention from a pathological-reactive model to a proactive-preventive model that is more relevant to the needs of the digital generation. In conclusion, design thinking offers an innovative alternative in contemporary psychology practices that are flexible, creative, and user-centered to support students' mental well-being.
Ryanti IsnaniaRina Oktaviana

https://www.rumahprof.com/index.php/CHIPROF/article/view/156

Adolescence represents a critical developmental phase where self-esteem significantly influences mental health trajectories. This study addresses low self-esteem among orphanage adolescents, where limited emotional support impedes healthy self-concept formation. The purpose was to implement and evaluate strengths-based group counseling with digital booklet media in enhancing self-esteem at Siti Aisyah Orphanage Palembang. Employing qualitative case study design, six participants aged 13-17 years with low self-esteem scores participated in six-week structured intervention using the BANGKIT Model. Data collection utilized triangulation methods including questionnaires, participatory observation, interviews, and workbook analysis. The intervention integrated psychoeducation on character strengths, reflective activities, and peer support. Results demonstrated significant improvement with mean scores increasing from 40.67 to 62.50, yielding very large effect size (Cohen's d=2.1) and 100% retention. Transformation occurred across cognitive (deficit narratives to potential narratives), affective (83% negative to 67% positive emotions), and behavioral dimensions (83% initiating social interactions). Thematic analysis revealed five patterns: rediscovery of positive identity, transition from isolation to connection, transformed relationship with mistakes, internalized validation, and emergence of altruism. Digital booklets and workbooks created effective learning loops facilitating self-esteem internalization. The study concludes that strengths-based group counseling with digital media produces profound psychological transformation for orphanage adolescents. Recommendations include implementing monthly booster sessions, training counselors in BANGKIT Model, integrating programs into orphanage curricula, conducting longitudinal research, adapting for vulnerable populations, and developing mobile applications for enhanced accessibility.
Rizki AmaliyahNapisa Salria Wulandari

https://www.rumahprof.com/index.php/CHIPROF/article/view/153

Situational anxiety in vocational high school adolescents is a psychological problem that requires structured intervention. This study aims to analyze the influence of school counseling services with the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach on reducing adolescent anxiety levels at SMK Ash-Shiddiqyah Lempuing Jaya. The research method used true experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design involving 60 students (30 experimental groups and 30 control groups). The research instrument used the State Anxiety Inventory which consisted of 20 statement items. The experimental group received six sessions of structured CBT interventions, while the control group received regular school counseling services. The results showed that the experimental group experienced an average decrease in anxiety score from 42.87 to 34.90, while the control group increased from 39.20 to 50.57. The ANOVA test produced a significance value of p=0.000 which showed a significant difference between the two groups. These findings prove that the CBT approach is effective in lowering adolescent situational anxiety levels through cognitive restructuring and maladaptive behavior modification. Practical implications of the study recommend the implementation of CBT-based counseling programs as an integral part of counseling counseling services in vocational high schools.
Rizki AmaliyahMerliana

https://www.rumahprof.com/index.php/CHIPROF/article/view/177

Quranic counseling is a counseling method applied to problem-solving using an approach based on the Quran. According to Erhamwilda, the fundamental teachings of Islam are the Quran and Hadith, which need to be explored critically to apply the basic counseling concepts contained therein professionally. This activity was conducted at the Hj. Saidatunnisa Pre-School of Postpartum Care (PMB Hj. Saidatunnisa), located in Banjarmasin City. The purpose of this activity was to determine the effectiveness of Quranic counseling in reducing and improving the psychological health of postpartum mothers. This study used a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample was drawn through purposive sampling, with 22 postpartum mothers. Data collection used a questionnaire on improving the psychological health of postpartum mothers. Data analysis involved grouping data based on sample variables, presenting data for each variable studied, and performing calculations to answer the research questions. The results showed that Quranic counseling was effective in reducing and improving the psychological health of postpartum mothers. Prior to Quranic counseling, many postpartum mothers experienced anxiety and mild depression related to their condition during childbirth. After undergoing Quranic counseling, all postpartum mothers felt calmer and were able to accept their own and their families' circumstances and were ready to face all possible eventualities.
SuryatiShelly Rodilah RosyadNelly Mariati

https://www.rumahprof.com/index.php/CHIPROF/article/view/150

This study presents the development of a web-based educational platform leveraging a large language model (LLM) to provide general information on diseases and medications. The platform integrates a curated database of diseases and drugs with the LLM via retrieval-augmented generation. When users enter a disease or drug name, the system retrieves relevant data and uses it as context for the LLM to produce concise responses in a friendly, accessible style. The application is built using native PHP with a MySQL backend and Bootstrap for responsive design. Safety features such as a mandatory disclaimer and filters for emergency conditions ensure that the chatbot does not offer diagnostic or prescriptive advice. Expert reviews indicated that the model-generated content aligned well with the database, and user testing showed high satisfaction with clarity and usability. These results demonstrate that combining structured medical data with a modern LLM can improve public access to reliable health education while maintaining ethical boundaries.
M Riski QisthianoIstiana RuswitaPutri Armilia Prayesy

https://www.rumahprof.com/index.php/CHIPROF/article/view/160

Adolescence is a critical developmental stage characterized by emotional instability and limited impulse control. Insufficient emotion regulation skills among junior high school students often lead to impulsive behavior, social conflict, and learning difficulties. This study aimed to examine the effectiveness of an emotion regulation–based psychological assistance program in improving emotional intelligence among ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Tanjung Lago. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach with an intervention design conducted through psychoeducation, emotion regulation training, and reflective emotional intelligence worksheets. Data were collected using pre–post worksheets, semi-structured interviews, and behavioral observations involving 20 students, with in-depth interviews conducted on six representative participants. The findings indicate improvements across five dimensions of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, self-motivation, empathy, and social skills. Students demonstrated enhanced ability to identify emotional triggers, manage impulsive reactions, apply adaptive coping strategies, and maintain more positive social interactions. These results suggest that structured emotion regulation interventions are effective in supporting emotional development and promoting adaptive behavior among early adolescents.
Sawi SujarwoVania Syifa Annisa

https://www.rumahprof.com/index.php/CHIPROF/article/view/158

This study developed and applied a multimodal Transformer model for student anxiety screening through video analysis of short interviews that included facial expressions, speech, and numerical data. Student anxiety is a problem that often affects mental health and academic performance, so early detection is important. The model combines three main data sources: facial expression features, speech analysis (including speech speed, intonation, and negative word count), and demographic information. The data used came from 500 students who participated in interviews lasting 20-40 seconds. The multimodal Transformer model was trained to classify anxiety levels into low, medium, and high categories, with evaluation using accuracy, precision, and recall metrics. The results showed that this model had a prediction accuracy of 88%, with a significant correlation between facial expressions and negative word counts on anxiety levels. Compared to the linear regression model used for comparison, the multimodal Transformer model shows better performance in detecting anxiety. These findings indicate that a multimodal approach using AI technology can improve accuracy and efficiency in student anxiety screening. This research opens up opportunities for the development of a more objective, non-invasive, and efficient video-based automated screening system, with potential applications in the field of mental health in higher education.
YunikeYesi Novaria KunangAri MuzakirIra Kusumawaty
